There are various definitions of dance and these vary around the world amongst different cultures. Dance takes various shapes and forms ranging from simple and easy steps to intricate and complex performances. There are many reasons why people dance ranging from ceremonial rituals and social bonding to romantic aspirations. When language had not yet developed men humans communicated with each other through gesturesDance steps are created from mans basic movements; the walk, run, jump, skip, slide, leap, turn and sway. Combinations of these have become traditional dance steps and have been used for folk and ethnic dances, social, dances and modern expressive dances.
