The significance of dancing in a circle is that, some of this flow of ras is kept in flow and check, that just when you might fly off and away, the mighty swirling circle draws you back into the spin and the pattern and the form resumes. And not just a circle , but one that is moving spinning dazzling and dancing.Garba and Raas, done well, are not just forms of dance. They are far beyond that. They are the ultimate devices of divine expression for the majority of people. They put religious discourses, praying, messages, revelations, learning, and other acts of religious and spiritual devotion, well in the shade,When we dance garba and raas we have the divineness in us, melting with the divine about us, playing with the divine in those around us,  in those dancing with us, those watching us,

 

The divine seeks to have us dance, so that the divine can connect and click and shine and show and flow and glow and ascend and transcend us and itself. We owe it to God, and the gods and the goddesses, to all forms and aspects of the divine, in whatever shape or form or being, to flow in and around and all over us, dancing and leaping, swaying and swirling, prancing and trancing, moving and grooving.
